ACSR Aluminium Conductor Steel Reinforced

Aluminium Conductor Steel Reinforced (ACSR) is concentrically stranded conductor with one or more layers of hard drawn 1350-H19 aluminium wire on galvanized steel wire core. The core can be single wire or stranded depending on the size. Steel core wire is available in Class A , B or Class C galvanization for corrosion protection. Additional corrosion protection is available through the application of grease to the core or infusion of the completed conductor with grease.   The proportion of steel and aluminium in an ACSR conductor can be selected based on the mechanical strength and current carrying capacity demanded by each application.   ACSR conductors are recognized for their record of economy, dependability and favourable strength / weight ratio. ACSR conductors combine the light weight and good conductivity of aluminium with the high tensile strength and ruggedness of steel. In line design, this can provide higher tensions, less sag, and longer span lengths than obtainable with most other types of overhead conductors.   Zhenglan Cable manufacture and supply ACSR on Non-Returnable wooden/steel reels or Returnable steel reels depending on customer requirement.   Features high Tensile strength better sag properties economic design best suited for transmission lines with long spans   Specifications ACSR manufactured by Zhenglan Cable meets or exceeds the requirements of all international standards like ASTM, AS, BS, CSA, DIN, IEC, NFC, SS -etc

Fire-resistant cables and conditions of use

Fire-resistant cables:   Fire-resistant cable refers to a cable that can maintain safe operation for a certain period of time in the case of flame burning. China's national standard GB12666.6 (such as IEC331) divides the fire resistance test into two levels, A and B. The flame temperature of Class A is 950 ~ 1000 ℃, and the continuous fire time is 90min. min, during the entire test period, the sample should withstand the rated voltage value specified by the product. Fire-resistant cables are widely used in high-rise buildings, underground railways, underground streets, large power stations, and important industrial and mining enterprises and other places related to fire safety and fire rescue, such as power supply lines and control lines for emergency facilities such as fire equipment and emergency guide lights.   Use conditions of fire-resistant cables:   1. Different conductor types in cable, wire and conductor.

Non compact circular conductor belongs to normal stranded conductor. During stranding, the conductor is pressed tightly without pressing wheel or pressing die. There is a natural gap between the strands of the stranded conductor. The conductor is circular, the most common one, such as the stranded conductor of wires and steel core aluminum strand, which are often seen, belongs to non compact conductor.   Compact circular conductor is on the basis of non compact circular conductor. During stranding, the conductor is pressed tightly by circular pressing wheel or circular pressing die to reduce the gap between stranded conductors' wires. The conductor is still circular, the cross-sectional area of conductor is unchanged, but the outer diameter of conductor is smaller, which can reduce the amount of materials such as cable insulation and sheath and the outer diameter of finished cable. Compact circular conductors are generally used for low, medium and high voltage power cables and overhead insulated cables. The advantages of compact conductors are as follows: 1. Reduce the outer diameter of conductor. If the process is strictly carried out in the production, the cost savings for multi-channel cables are considerable 2. Uniform electric field, especially for medium and high voltage cables above 6kV, and tight pressure ratio shall be specified to prevent charge concentration on conductor surface, resulting in tip discharge, breakdown or burn of insulation layer. Conductor shield in medium voltage cable also has the function of uniform electric field 3. Due to the small gap between the conductors, it is not easy for the conductors to enter the water and cause water tree discharge.   Shaped (irregular) conductor is the conductor of the cable in the stranding, the conductor is through the sector or tile shaped pressing wheel to compact the conductor sector, tile and semi-circular conductor, the conductor into a certain shape, so it is called shaped conductor. Tight pressing can also reduce the gap between the stranded conductors' single wires, and the combination of prefabricated cable insulation cores after cable forming is tight, without filling materials. The amount of materials such as wrapping, lining, armor and outer sheath can be reduced, effectively reducing the outer diameter of the cable. Formed conductors are mainly used for low-voltage power cables.   Zhenglan Cable Technology Co., Ltd is professional manufacturer of low and medium voltage power cable, overhead bare conductor, aerial insulated cable, building wire and control cable. AAC, AAAC, ACSR ALUMINIUM CONDUCTORS

AAC, AAAC, ACSR form part of the family of Overhead Conductors, Transmission Conductors and Power Distribution Conductors. These cables are formally known as All Aluminium Conductor (AAC), All Aluminium Alloy Conductor (AAAC) and Aluminium Conductor Steel Reinforced (ACSR). These overhead aluminium conductors are used as power transmission and distribution lines. All aluminium conductors are made up of one or more strands of aluminium wire depending on the specific application.   Our range of aluminium overhead conductor cables includes:   AAC–ASTM-B All Aluminium Conductor AAC are a refined Aluminium stranded conductor with a minimum metal purity of 99.7%. It is principally used in urban areas where spacing is short and the supports are close. It can be used in coastal regions owing to its high degree of corrosion resistance and is also used extensively within the Railway and Metro industries.   AAAC-ASTM-B All Aluminium Alloy Conductor AAAC are used as a bare conductor cable on aerial circuits that require a larger mechanical resistance than the AAC and a better corrosion resistance than the ACSR. The sag characteristics and the strength-to-weight ratio of the AAAC conductor cable is better than both AAC and ACSR.   ACSR-ASTM-B Aluminium Conductor Steel Reinforced ACSR are available in a range of steel contents ranging from 6% to 40% for additional strength. The higher strength ACSR conductors are commonly used for river crossings, overhead earth wires, and installations involving extra-long spans. The ACSR conductor can, against any given resistance, be manufactured to different tensile strengths, so a high tensile strength combined with its lightweight properties means it can cover longer distances with fewer supports. Due to the greater diameter of the ACSR conductor, a much higher corona limit can be obtained which is advantageous on high and extra high voltage overhead lines.   Aluminium conductors are known by codenames, differing depending on dimensions.

How many common CABLE Acronyms do you konw?

There’s a huge range of cable types and associated cable acronyms. Here’s a brief overview of some of the most common cable acronyms and what they refer to. PVC PVC (Poly Vinyl Chloride) is a synthetic plastic material which is the most common material used for cable insulation and outer jacket. It’s widely used for both control and low voltage power cables. V-75 / V-90 / V-90HT PVC cables are available in various temperature ratings including V-75 (75°C), V-90 (90°C) and V-90HT. The higher ratings can continually withstand higher temperatures, but only in certain conditions where they are mechanically protected. PVC tends to soften at high temperatures which can increase the risk of mechanical damage and subsequent safety hazards. In the case of a fire, PVC emits toxic fumes and smoke which can become very hazardous to persons in a confined space. LSF LSF denotes Low Smoke and Fume – a special type of PVC cable insulation which is designed to emit much less noxious fumes and smoke in the case of a fire or high temperature situation. It’s often used in public areas and confined spaces such as underground railway stations, where the potential likelihood of toxic fume inhalation is higher. XLPE XLPE is an abbreviation for Cross(X)-Linked PolyEthylene – a polymeric insulation material primarily used in power cables. It offers a higher temperature rating than PVC – typically 90°C – but doesn’t soften like PVC at these temperatures, so is much safer and capable of carrying higher currents. SDI SDI stands for Single Double Insulated. It’s simply a single conductor with two separate layers of insulation for additional protection. SWA SWA stands for Steel Wire Armoured – power cable with an additional layer of steel or aluminium material to offer additional mechanical protection. It’s mechanically very tough and can be buried directly underground or used in applications where severe mechanical stress is present. Other name you may met, DSTA stands for double of steel tape armored; CTS stands for copper tape screen; LSZH/LSOH stands for low smoke zero halogen. Keep one eye on those you are not familiar with and collect them altogether for use on rainy days.   http://www.zhenglancable.com/
